Services for Adult Studies
& Off-Campus Programs
The
SAU campus library supports the research need of students and faculty both
on campus and at the centers. The library collection now includes some 97,000
volumes of books, microfiche and other media, and approximately 1,000 journals.
Access is available to an additional 2,000 plus journals through full-text
online services. Students and faculty at the centers are welcome and encouraged
to use the library.

WebCat-library catalog of materials.
Search WebCat to locate books, cd-roms, and other items available
at the SAU library. Access WebCat via the World Wide Web.
Article
Databases - list of databases in various
academic disciplines. Some contain electronic full-text of articles.
NetLibrary-collection
of eBooks, electronic versions of printed books, available to Spring
Arbor University students via the Internet. Students must register
to use this service. NetLibrary allows users to browse books or check
them out.
MOD Theses-copies
of selected MOD theses are bound and available in the library. These
may be checked out for one month. Theses can be requested by contacting
the External Services Librarian, Stephanie
Davis at 1-800-968-9103, ext. 1435. You may also search for
theses through the SAU
WebCat. When searching, limit your search to the item type,
AE Thesis. The item type option is located at the bottom of the Complex
Search screen. After selecting the item type, then insert your search
term in the main search screen and click the search catalog button.
Theses are irreplaceable so please be responsible and return them
in a timely manner.
Research Assistance-Librarians
provide assistance with research problems by phone or by e-mail throughout
the year. Students are encouraged to do as much as possible locally
and to have a clear idea of what materials you need. Librarians will
not do the research for you, but can get you started and provide guidance
and assistance. Don't hesitate to contact us.
Michicard-All
SAU students, staff and faculty may check out print materials from
over 365 public and academic libraries throughout Michigan. A MichiCard
sticker applied to a valid SAU ID or a plastic MichiCard will serve
as the statewide library card. A list of participating libraries is
available at each SAU Center.
